The 3rd Digital Trade Forum and Online Expo was held from September 11–13, 2026,  at the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh, bringing together government leaders, business executives, entrepreneurs, technology innovators and consumers for an event designed to accelerate the country’s digital trade development and create new opportunities for local enterprises.

Organised by the Ministry of Commerce, the forum was held under the theme “Advancing Cambodia’s Digital Trade Toward 2030" and served as a national platform for policy dialogue, business networking, technology showcases and practical market-building activities. The event highlighted Cambodia’s efforts to strengthen its digital economy, support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and help women entrepreneurs and young innovators use e-commerce to reach domestic and international customers.

H.E. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, presided over the forum's opening ceremony, where she remarked on the ministry's aims to foster an efficient, trustworthy, and inclusive digital trade ecosystem, while enhancing the productivity, competitiveness, and market access of Cambodian enterprises in the lead-up to 2030.

She emphasised the need for Cambodia to continue strengthening both hard and soft infrastructure for digital trade, in alignment with the Cambodian government's priorities. In this context, she shared that the Ministry of Commerce is:

  • Formulating the ‘Cambodia Trade Policy Framework Towards 2030’ and the ‘Digital Trade Strategy 2025–2030’
  • Collaborating with the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC) to draft an inter-ministerial Prakas on the Implementation of the Code of Professional Ethics for E-commerce Intermediaries and Service Providers
  • Continuing to strengthen the CambodiaTrade.com platform.

These efforts aim to ensure that Cambodia possesses a clear and comprehensive agenda, strategy, and regulatory framework to support and develop the digital trade sector. Furthermore, the ministry seeks to enable the private sector – particularly MSMEs, rural entrepreneurs, and women entrepreneurs – to expand trade opportunities, boost productivity, generate added value, and participate more broadly in digital value chains through the safe and responsible use of technology.

Meanwhile, e-commerce revenue in Cambodia is projected to rise to around USD 1.8 billion by 2029, from the approximately USD 1.1 billion recorded in 2025.

3rd Digital Trade Forum and Online Expo Event Highlights

Over the course of three days, the forum featured a wide range of activities.

  • A flagship leadership panel, “Building Cambodia’s Digital Trade Infrastructure Towards 2030”, brought together public and private sector leaders to discuss the policies, technologies and partnerships needed to improve Cambodia’s competitiveness in the digital economy.
  • A Cambodia Trade Product Hackathon, organised with the MPTC and the CambodiaTrade.com team, challenged participants to transform Cambodian products into stronger digital marketplace offerings by improving product presentation, digital content creation and online market readiness.
  • The TEDxPhnomPenh Salon provided another platform for thought leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators to share ideas on digital trade, technology-enabled commerce, cybersecurity, inclusive growth and Cambodia’s role in the regional digital economy.
  • Inclusion was also a key focus of the forum, with a Women in Digital Trade programme helping women-led businesses sharpen digital marketing, apply AI tools and prepare for export opportunities.
  • Youth voices were highlighted through a Digital Trade Youth Debate, giving university students a platform to address Cambodia’s digital future.

Through a blend of policy talks, business matchmaking, product promotion and public engagement, the forum sought to turn Cambodia’s digital trade ambitions into practical market opportunities. For businesses, students and consumers, the 3rd Digital Trade Forum and Online Expo offered a direct role in building a more trusted, inclusive and globally competitive digital trade ecosystem.
