Charge d’Affaires of the Republic of Indonesia, Krishnajie Partadireja, and Permanent Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, H.E. Kem Sithan, jointly opened the Indonesian Embassy’s annual trade and tourism promotion event, ‘Sousdey Indonesia 2026’ on September 19, at Hall L, Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC), Phnom Penh.

The opening ceremony was attended by high rank officials of the line ministries, Phnom Penh Capital Hall, ambassadors, professionals, and leaders of local business associations. In his remarks, the Indonesian CDA conveyed that Sousdey Indonesia 2026 was initiated to further strengthen the Cambodian Market’s understanding of Indonesian products, brands, and quality.

“While many Indonesian products have already been well received in Cambodia, there are still other ‘hidden champions’ – high quality brands of Indonesian origin that may not yet widely recognised by Cambodian consumers," he stressed.

The Permanent Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia, H.E. Kem Sithan, positively welcomed Sousdey Indonesia 2026, in which he expressed his optimism that it will provide the opportunities to deepen the trade and investment connections between the two countries, as well as to unleash the untapped potential economic cooperation opportunities.

Sousdey Indonesia remains the biggest trade exhibition of Indonesian products in Cambodia. This year, the two-day exhibition seeks to seize the momentum for current and newly arrived Indonesian products to have greater exposure within the Cambodian market. Twenty-eight out of 31 exhibitors are local distributors of Indonesian products of various categories, such as food and beverages, pharmaceutical, personal care and beauty, hospitality, household appliances, and fashion.

In addition to facilitating business to business (B2B) interactions, Sousdey Indonesia is also bringing vibrant Indonesian cultural performances from the Indonesian Cultural Centre in Phnom Penh, introducing the local crowds to versatile Indonesian batik for daily wear through batik styling challenge, as well as authentic Nusantara cuisine from selected Indonesian restaurants in Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville.

Krishnajie also stated that Sousdey Indonesia is part of economic diplomacy that is supported by several other programmes, including the facilitation of a Cambodian business delegation to participate in the 41st Trade Expo Indonesia in October 2026.

The successful execution of Sousdey Indonesia 2026 was supported by Smart Axiata as the main partner, as well as the valuable contributions of Talik AVL, Kalbe, AirAsia Cambodia, Kekean Group, Arjuna Solitaire Hotel, and Sun & Moon Riverside Hotel.
